To run ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Pro on an Apple Macintosh computer, the Mac must be set up to run Windows. Keep in mind that ESRI does NOT support ArcGIS for Mac, and that you can only use ArcGIS within one of the Windows OS installation options described above.
ArcGIS Preview 10.2.3 for Mac is free to download from our software library. The most popular version among the program users is 10.2. This free software for Mac OS X is a product of ArcGIS. The application relates to Design & Photo Tools. The latest version of the program can be downloaded for Mac OS X 10.8 or later. In summary, ArcGIS for Desktop can optimally run on Macs, however proper setup and configuration is essential. Newer Macs, with discrete GPU’s, have more powerful hardware resources, and can optimally support a graphically-intensive program like ArcGIS Pro. A final configuration recommendation is within the Mac OS X setting, where high.
You can download ArcGIS Pro either from My Esri or your ArcGIS Online organization.
By default, the English-language version of the application is downloaded. Optionally, you can run ArcGIS Pro in a different language by downloading a language pack. There are two ways to do this:
- Download a localized version of ArcGIS Pro.
- Download ArcGIS Pro and download a language pack separately.
A localized version bundles ArcGIS Pro and a language pack in one executable (.exe) file.
Other software components—such as the offline help application, additional language packs, and specialized data and database support files—must be downloaded from My Esri.
Once the application is downloaded, you can install ArcGIS Pro. If you download a localized version or a language pack, see Install a localized version of ArcGIS Pro for additional information.
Download ArcGIS Pro from My Esri
Follow these steps to download ArcGIS Pro and other software components from My Esri. For supplementary help, see How To: Download and install Esri software from My Esri.
- Go to My Esri.
- Click the My Organizations tab and click the Downloads tab under it.
Note:
If there is no Downloads tab, it means that you are not authorized to download the software. Click the Request Permissions side tab. You can complete a form to request download permission from your software administrator, or you can click the Contact My Administrator button to send a direct message.
- In the list of available products, next to ArcGIS Pro, confirm that the version number (for example, 2.8) is correct. Click View Downloads.
Note:
If you have not previously agreed to the terms and conditions of the master agreement, a pop-up window appears. After reviewing the terms and conditions, check the box and click Accept if you want to continue.
- Under Download, review the Language setting. If you want to download a localized version of ArcGIS Pro, change the setting to the language you want.
- In the list of product components, under Files, next to ArcGIS Pro, click Download.
An executable file (.exe) is downloaded to your computer.
- Optionally, download other product components, such as offline help or language packs.
Each component is downloaded to your computer as an executable file.
Note:
To download components in a language other than English, change your Language setting under Download. Many components are available only in English.
Download ArcGIS Pro from ArcGIS Online
Follow these steps to download ArcGIS Pro from ArcGIS Online. Optionally, you can download a localized version.
Note:
Software download policies differ among organizations. ArcGIS Online administrators can make a security setting to prevent members from downloading ArcGIS Pro on their own.
- Sign in to your ArcGIS Online organization.
- At the top of the page, click your user name and click My settings.
- On the My settings page, click the Licenses tab.
Your user type, role, and assigned licenses are listed. If you don't see ArcGIS Pro listed under your licensed products, or if the Download button does not appear, contact your ArcGIS organization administrator.
- Next to ArcGIS Pro, click Download.
- In the Download window, review the Language setting. If you want to download a localized version of ArcGIS Pro, change the setting to the language you want.
- Click Download.
An executable file (.exe) is downloaded to your computer.

Run the License Manager setup from your software download or ArcGIS installation media. Follow the instructions to install the license manager to the desired location. At the end of the installation, ArcGIS License Server Administrator appears. Complete the authorization process and start the license service. ArcGIS License Manager 10.2.2 uses FlexNet Publisher license management software. You download ArcGIS Pro and any optional setups from My Esri. You can access a list of downloads that are available to you by browsing to the My Organizations tab and clicking Downloads. School days hq download.

Note:
To download, your Esri account must be connected to your organization with the appropriate permissions. If you don't have appropriate permissions, the option to download will not be available to you. On the My Organizations tab in My Esri, click Request permissions to your organization, which will notify your administrator to connect your Esri account to your organization.
- ArcGIS Pro (required): Download from My Esri to get the main ArcGIS Pro application.
- Offline help (optional): Download from My Esri to access offline help (local help files) for ArcGIS Pro.
By default, ArcGIS Pro connects to and displays an online help system. If you will be working in a disconnected environment, install the local help files. For more information, see About ArcGIS Pro Help.

Download Arcgis For Mac
ArcGIS Pro can be installed as a per-machine installation or as a per-user installation. A per-machine installation allows all users on the machine to use ArcGIS Pro. A per-user installation allows only the installer to use ArcGIS Pro. The default installation locations for each option can be found in Install ArcGIS Pro silently using command line parameters under INSTALLDIR. The steps below reflect a per-machine installation.

Arcgis 10.3 License Manager Download
Note:
For ArcGIS Pro to be installed per user on supported Windows Server operating systems, the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindowsInstaller must contain the REG_DWORD data type DisableMSI, with a value of 0. For more information, see the MSDN topic DisableMSI.
- Review the ArcGIS Prosystem requirements to verify operating system and other environmental prerequisites.
- Start the ArcGIS Pro installation program and click Next when you are ready to proceed.
- Review the license agreement and accept it if you agree. Click Next to continue with the installation. You must exit if you do not agree with the terms.
- Select the installation context in which ArcGIS Pro will install, whether per-machine (all users) or per-user. By default, the per-machine option is selected. Click Next to continue.
Note:
If the user running the setup does not have administrative privileges, a per-machine instance of ArcGIS Pro cannot be installed.
- Click Change to specify the installation folder or click Next to accept the default location of C:Program FilesArcGISPro.
If the installation folder is changed, neither ArcGIS nor Pro is appended to the modified path. It is recommended that the selected custom installation location include a folder and not the root location of a drive.
- Click Install to begin the installation. Note that the Esri User Experience Improvement check box is checked by default.
- Click Finish to close the wizard when the installation completes. Leave the Run ArcGIS Pro now check box checked if you want to start the application immediately.
- Optionally, run the offline help setup for ArcGIS Pro by browsing to its installation folder and executing the ArcGISProHelp.msi file.
Authorize
After you download and install ArcGIS Pro, you must have an authorized license to begin using the application.

If you have an ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise account, you can start ArcGIS Pro with a Named User license. If your credentials do not work, contact your administrator. A license may not have been assigned to you, or you may need to authorize a Single Use or Concurrent Use license instead of a Named User license.
